Mental Wellness Symposium Day 1 ( 14 Oct 2023) – Restoring Hope & Building Resilience in the Family

The past few years have resulted in increased stress, uncertainty, and a toll on our mental wellbeing. Through these sessions, we hope to build the skills needed to help restore hope and build resilience within ourselves and the community. This symposium is for foster parents, caregivers of children with neurodiverse needs, educators and social service professionals to learn how to better manage the effect of trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences.

You will learn the following:

1) How the brain and nervous system respond to trauma and stress;

2) How to help children manage emotional regulation and build sustained attention;

3) How we each perceive time differently and why this results in relationship conflicts; and

4) How to help children manage trauma and build mental resilience.
